1. Information SamanthaAI collects
- Account information. Apple sign-in identifiers and, when Apple provides them or you add them, your name, email address, profile image, preferences, account settings, and the time/source and policy version of your adult-eligibility acknowledgment. Samantha records the acknowledgment, not your date of birth.
- Conversations and memory. Messages, generated replies, conversation state, relationship summaries, saved personalizations, and other context required to preserve companion continuity.
- Health and sensitive context. If you share relationship, sexuality, health, or emotional context, Samantha may process and store that information in messages, ordinary relationship summaries, or saved personalizations.
- World and media content. Posts, captions, comments, follows, reactions, reports, images, voice notes, generated media, uploads, saved photos, and associated metadata.
- My Visuals. If you use My Visuals, Samantha stores the adult age and appearance description you enter, which can include gender presentation, build, skin tone, ethnicity or heritage, hair, eyes, style, distinctive features, accessories, and appearance notes. Samantha also stores your acceptance choice, optional Looks, and up to three generated private synthetic reference images for each completed version: portrait, three-quarter, and full-body. My Visuals does not require or accept a selfie.
- Usage and account state. Feature interactions, unread state, allowances or credit balances, moderation state, and records needed to prevent duplicate or abusive requests.
- Apple purchase information. If you use an in-app purchase, Samantha receives verified product, transaction, original-transaction, subscription-status, offer, date, environment, and anonymous app-account-token information from Apple. Apple processes payment credentials; Samantha does not receive your full card or bank details.
- Technical and security information. IP address and request metadata, device/app version, an Apple notification device token when you enable notifications, diagnostics, error records, security events, and limited logs used to operate and protect the service.
- Support information. The messages and account context you choose to include when requesting help, reporting a safety issue, or exercising a privacy right.
2. How SamanthaAI uses information
- Provide sign-in, World, Messages, Create, My Visuals, Memory, saved-media, and account features.
- Generate and personalize AI responses and media while preserving the character and memory continuity you expect.
- Synchronize your content across sessions and devices, process your requests, and prevent accidental duplicate writes.
- Verify Apple purchases, grant or restore the correct allowance, process renewals, expiration, refunds, or revocation, and prevent duplicate or transferred purchase credits.
- Measure feature use and service performance, understand how SamanthaAI is used, and plan or improve features.
- Enforce safety rules, investigate abuse, protect accounts, debug failures, and maintain service reliability.
- Respond to support, privacy, account-access, and legal requests.
3. AI and service providers
SamanthaAI uses third-party service providers for AI text responses and summaries, selected image understanding and visual safety review, image and voice generation, weather context, hosting and storage, sign-in, push notifications, Apple purchases, subscription management, and purchase-lifecycle verification. The provider used depends on the feature and deployed configuration.
We require third-party service providers that handle personal information to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable law and platform rules.
When you use an AI feature, SamanthaAI sends the content and context needed to provide that feature to the relevant AI provider. This can include recent messages, companion instructions, saved personalizations, selected media, appearance descriptions, generated private visual references, and coarse context. After you confirm you are 18 or older, the app asks for separate, explicit permission before sending personal or conversation-derived content to third-party AI providers. You may decline or withdraw that permission later in Me → Privacy & AI; AI-powered features remain unavailable while permission is off.
When you use My Visuals, an AI service provider receives prompts derived from the appearance description and Look you chose. To keep the generated appearance consistent, it can also receive a generated private portrait reference when creating the other two reference views or a later image in which you choose Include me. My Visuals does not accept or send a selfie.
SamanthaAI does not sell your personal information and does not use third-party advertising trackers in the native app.
4. Retention
We keep account and user-created information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide continuity, security, support, and the features you request. Temporary uploads, caches, idempotency records, and operational logs use shorter retention periods where practical. Backups and security records may persist for a limited period after deletion.
My Visuals appearance descriptions, Looks, candidate and accepted versions, and private synthetic references remain linked to your account until you remove My Visuals, use Fresh Start, or delete the account. Removing My Visuals cancels pending work and sends unshared private reference images through ownership- and reference-checked deletion; interrupted cleanup is retried. Images already generated and attached to a post, message, or other history remain with that history until the owning item, Fresh Start, or the account is deleted. Removing My Visuals does not rewrite already generated images.
Verified Apple notification payloads are redacted as soon as processing is complete. A payload that remains unmatched or requires reconciliation is retained for no more than 30 days; its one-way hash and limited transaction lifecycle fields remain as replay and accounting evidence.
We may retain the minimum Apple original-transaction ownership, transaction hash, account-deletion marker, and other information required for fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, disputes, duplicate-credit prevention, or enforcement. We do not use retained deletion records to continue ordinary personalization, restore a deleted account, or transfer an Apple purchase to a replacement Samantha account.
5. Your choices and requests
- Review or forget supported saved personalizations from Memory.
- Review, replace, or remove My Visuals and archive optional Looks using the controls in Me.
- Delete supported posts, saved photos, conversations, or other content using the controls shown in the app.
- Sign out to clear the app's private on-device session and cached media.
- Request access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion through authenticated in-app Support.
We may need to verify account ownership before completing a request. Account deletion removes the account and associated personal data unless retention is required for one of the limited reasons above. Deleting SamanthaAI does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel or manage it through your Apple subscription settings.
6. Security
Samantha uses HTTPS in transit, access controls, private account-scoped storage, request validation, rate limits, and other technical and organizational safeguards. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please report suspected unauthorized access through Support.
7. Adults only
Samantha is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We may restrict access and remove associated data if we reasonably believe an account is being used by a minor.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The date on this page identifies the current version.
For account-specific help, open SamanthaAI and choose Me → Support. If you cannot open the app or sign in, email SamanthaAIWorld@proton.me. Never send passwords, Apple sign-in tokens, or full payment-card details.
